In Afghanistan about 80% of all women never have had the chance to attend school or to learn how to read and write. We are offering a basic literacy course specifically for adult women in Daikundi. They are curious and want to learn and we try and provide an opportunity for them.
This winter holidays, we are paying two teachers to teach classes in reading, writing and basic mathematics. We also bought school books in Dari and mathematics and writing material for the women. 95 women signed up to attend the course despite the cold weather and unfortunately unheated classrooms. This just shows their determination. The courses take place in two different locations.
